How would you like to get your blog posts indexed in minutes, instead of hours or days? Well, by using PubSubHubbub it is very simple to do. I’ve been playing around with PubSubHubbub on several of my blogs and I must say that it is pretty damn cool. So what exactly is it? You observe this all the time when you visit flogs or dating landing pages, where you see something like “Chris from says…” or “Meet girls in “. Why do affiliate marketers do this? Because it is a form of social proof that helps increase your conversion rates and is very simple to add to your pages. All you need to do is add a small snippet of javascript to your landing page which translates the visitors ip address to their approximate location. Although the data is not 100% accurate, it is usually good enough for our purposes.
At the top of your page between the <head> tags you would put:
As you can see, we are using this free Javascript api from Maxmind. Check out their full API to see what other info you can include. If used properly on your landing pages, adding this small snippet of code will make your sales copy a little more relevant to the visitor and can increase your sales. Scribd is one of my favorite places to build links with. For those who are not familiar with the site, Scribd is the most popular document sharing site online. Google loves this PR 8 site, and my Scribd documents usually get indexed in a matter of hours. If the keyword term I am targeting doesn’t have much competition, I can usually get my Scribd document ranked on the first page of Google as well.
I’ve found that the best way to publish documents on Scribd is to upload them as pdfs. What I usually do is copy and paste my keyword rich article into Google Docs. Then I add my link using my targeted anchor text, and convert the document to pdf using the Download file as > PDF function. Finally, login to your Scribd account and upload the pdf. Couldn’t be more simple.
One of my favorite sites to build backlinks is with Hubpages. Building hubs is part of my link wheel strategy and it works very well. An added benefit that I get from Hubpages is that I actually receive a good amount of traffic to my hubs if I optimize them well. One way to do this is to add as many relevant tags to my hubs as I can. By doing this, I increase the visibility of my hubs on the hubpages site itself, and in turn increase the number of visitors I get.
Besides thinking of relevant tags off the top of your head, here is a simple tip to discover other great tags to use. Hubpages has a concept of hot hubs and best hubs. Hot hubs are newer hubs that have received a lot of traffic or comment discussion recently while Best hubs are hubs with the highest hub score.
So, go to Google and type in:
site:hubpages.com your keyword(s) “hot hubs” or
site:hubpages.com your keyword(s) “best hubs”
In the search results, you will get back a list of relevant hubpage tag pages that you can add to your hub. It’s quite simple really, and I encourage you to follow this process for all the hubs your right. I’ve found it makes quite a bit of difference for me.

Many of you are familiar with Alexa and its infamous Alexa Toolbar. By collecting data from people who use its toolbar, Alexa is able to gather useful metrics about the surfing habits of its users. While you might be familiar with Alexa Rank, which is an estimate of how popular a website is, Alexa collects some other useful data as well. In this tip, let me show you have to use Alexa as an incredibly useful keyword search tool.
If you look at the Alexa data for a particular url, you will notice a Keywords tab. Here you will see the top search terms that are driving traffic to the site. I’ve tested this Alexa keyword search tool feature on several of my own sites, and the data looks pretty accurate. So how would you use this data? Well, you can take a look at other popular sites in your niche and see exactly what keywords they are targeting. Write articles that target these keywords as well and try to grab some of their traffic. Or if you are into PPC, you can add these keywords to your own list and target them with paid traffic.
